
CANSKATE
is the Skate Canada learn to skate program for beginners. Technical skills are
taught and emphasized through fun activities and continuous movement in small
groups. Skills are assessed daily and there are many incentives available to
reward participation. Badges are also awarded at each level. CANSKATE is a
feeder program to the Skate Canada STARSKATE and COMPETITIVE SKATE
Programs. PRE-Canskate is recommended for ages 3-5.
CANSKATE is recommended for ages 5 and older.
ALLSKATERS
MUST WEAR A CSA-APPROVED HOCKEY HELMET WHILE ON THE ICE.

POWER
SKATING is a high energy instructional power skating program designed
to complement training for young athletes playing on hockey and ringette teams.
The program focuses on power, balance, speed agility and endurance. Technical
skills are taught in a progressive format with game situations in mind. Hockey
equipment is required.

FIGURE
SKATING PROGRAMS
Junior
Development is geared for athletes ages 8 and under who are interested
in figure skating. Figure skating skills are introduced through a group
lesson format in a positive and fun atmosphere. The private
lesson program begins with young athletes who are ready to meet the
challenge of private lessons along with off-ice classes and group
lessons.
